Rolex Middle Sea Race 2026

The 47th Rolex Middle Sea Race starts on Saturday 17 October 2026 at 11:00 from Grand Harbour, Valletta. One of offshore sailing's most celebrated challenges, this 606-nautical-mile race organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club takes an international fleet on an anti-clockwise course around Sicily, passing the active volcanoes Stromboli and Etna, before returning to Malta. The start beneath Valletta's UNESCO World Heritage fortifications is one of the most spectacular sights in world sailing and can be watched for free from the Upper and Lower Barrakka Gardens, the bastions and the waterfront. The prize-giving is held at the 16th-century Sacra Infermeria overlooking Grand Harbour.
