Katy Perry: Isle of MTV
The biggest single booking in Malta's summer calendar. Katy Perry headlines the Isle of MTV free outdoor festival at Il-Fosos Square in Floriana on 22 July 2026, in front of a crowd that typically exceeds 50,000 people. Europe's largest free outdoor music event, and one of the most dramatic festival settings on the continent: the Granaries site with the Valletta fortifications as the backdrop. Registration is required but entry is free. If you are in Malta in late July, this is unmissable. See the full summer music festivals guide for everything happening around it.
Lewis Capaldi: SummerDaze Malta
Lewis Capaldi plays Ta' Qali Concert Area on 11 August 2026 as part of the SummerDaze Malta festival. One of the biggest artists to emerge from the UK in the past decade, his Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent album made him a genuine global phenomenon. An outdoor arena-scale show in the heart of Malta. Check for second night and support act announcements as the date approaches.
Fatboy Slim, Nina Kraviz and Lilly Palmer: Spiral Festival
The EXIT Presents Spiral Festival opens on 31 July at Gianpula Village with three headliners who represent three generations of electronic music: Fatboy Slim, the defining act of the late 90s big beat era; Nina Kraviz, one of the most influential figures in contemporary techno; and Lilly Palmer, whose relentless touring schedule and singular sound have made her one of the most in-demand names on the European circuit right now. Three headliners on one night is unusual for Malta. Tickets from €45. The festival continues across Café del Mar on 1 August and Toy Room Beach on 2 August.
Steve Aoki: Gianpula Village
Steve Aoki plays Gianpula Village on 10 August 2026. One of the most recognisable names in global electronic music, Aoki's live show is one of the more theatrical on the festival circuit: full production, cake throws and the kind of crowd interaction that makes a large outdoor venue feel intimate. Tickets €30.
John Summit: BBC Radio 1 Dance Malta
BBC Radio 1 Dance returns to Café del Mar on 22 August with John Summit headlining. Summit is arguably the hottest name in house music right now, with a run of releases and festival appearances that have made him the defining artist of the current moment in the genre. The BBC Radio 1 Dance Malta partnership has established the Café del Mar residency as one of the best bookings of the summer. A separate Zerb night on 18 August gives the residency two headline nights in the same week.
Vintage Culture: Café del Mar
Vintage Culture plays Café del Mar on 15 August 2026, presented by G7 Events and Panorama Malta. Brazil's most successful DJ and producer on the international circuit, his sold-out worldwide tour has taken in the biggest venues in Europe and South America. A sunset-into-night set at Café del Mar is close to the ideal format for his sound. Free for G7 Membership Card holders.
Adriatique: The Ditch, Valletta
Swiss electronic duo Adriatique play the Valletta Ditch on 20 September. Known for their deeply melodic sound and critically acclaimed releases on Diynamic and Afterlife, they are one of the most consistent and respected acts in European electronic music. The Ditch is an unusual outdoor venue cut into Valletta's fortification walls: intimate, dramatic and unlike anything else in Malta. Tickets €35 to €75. One of the better bookings of the autumn season.
Cosmic Gate: Teatru Blue Arena
Cosmic Gate headline the open-air Teatru Blue Arena in Zabbar on 30 August, supported by Tenishia, Clay C, Darryl, Cathy K, Nill and Dimiana. GRAMMY-nominated and ranked consistently in the DJ Mag Top 100, Cosmic Gate are one of the most enduring names in trance and progressive electronic music. The Zabbar venue is a spectacular open-air setting that holds the scale of the production without losing the atmosphere. Doors open 16:00, €15 online.
Omid Djalili: Namaste Tour
Omid Djalili plays the InterContinental Arena on 24 and 25 July. One of Britain's most respected stand-up comedians, with a global profile built across live performance, film and television. Two nights at a proper seated venue, tickets from €45 to €120. Read more in our complete comedy guide.
James Morrison: Pjazza Teatru Rjal
James Morrison plays the open-air Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta on 4 July 2026. The British singer-songwriter has one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary pop and his catalogue has a depth that suits an open-air evening format. The roofless Royal Opera House ruin is one of the most atmospheric outdoor venues in Europe. A proper concert rather than a festival booking.
Naples: Voice, Music and Soul: World Premiere
The world premiere of Naples: Voice, Music and Soul at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on 15 November brings Balletto di Milano, La Scala Singers and a live Italian Orchestra together for an evening that sits at the intersection of ballet, opera and orchestral concert. Tickets €49 to €85. The kind of production that would comfortably sit in major European opera houses: Malta is getting it first.
