Omid Djalili: Namaste Tour 2026

Comedy in Malta 2026: The Complete Guide

Malta's comedy scene has grown significantly in the past few years, moving from occasional imported acts to a genuine year-round programme that mixes local improv and stand-up nights with major international headliners. Whether you want a casual Sunday evening out or front-row seats for a global touring act, here is everything on in 2026.

The Sunday Comedy Club

The most consistent regular comedy night on the island, running every Sunday at Spritz Social Den in Gzira. A mix of local comedians, open mic slots and occasional visiting acts in an intimate venue that keeps it unpretentious. Tickets €10. The format is relaxed enough that it works whether you are a comedy regular or just looking for a low-key Sunday evening. Check the GoGather calendar for upcoming lineups.

Tigullio Sliema: Miss/Match and Comedy Nights

Tigullio in Sliema has established itself as a reliable home for comedy and novelty nights. The Miss/Match Comedy Dating Show runs in May and June: part comedy performance, part social experiment, it is the kind of event that works whether or not you find the premise funny. OnlyDans Live brings a different energy in May: a comedian who built an online audience and is now touring it to live rooms. Worth checking the Tigullio programme regularly as new dates tend to appear with short notice.

Two Black Cats and the Improv Circuit

Malta has a small but active improv comedy community centred on Two Black Cats, who run regular nights at Soho The Strand in Gzira. Improv Night and Savage Improv at Hard Rock Cafe St Julian's give the format a couple of different homes. Improv nights are inherently unpredictable, which is most of the point. Good value and a genuinely different kind of evening from a scripted performance.

Purroud: Drag, Burlesque and Comedy

Purroud at Soho The Strand combines drag performance, burlesque and comedy in a Pride Week format that has become one of the more anticipated events on the LGBTQIA+ calendar. Part of Malta Pride Week, it sits comfortably alongside the more straightforwardly political events as the moment when everything loosens up and gets genuinely funny.

Tim Borg: Uncharted Territory

Maltese stand-up Tim Borg is one of the more interesting voices in the local comedy scene: specific, self-aware and willing to go to uncomfortable places. Uncharted Territory at Spazju Kreattiv in June was his most ambitious solo show to date. Watch for new dates as his profile continues to build.

Gabriel Iglesias: Live in Malta

The big international comedy booking of the summer. Gabriel Iglesias, one of the most successful stand-up comedians in the world and known globally as Fluffy, played Ta' Qali National Park on 14 June 2026. Selling out arenas across the US and Europe, his Malta date was part of a wider European tour. A full arena-scale production in an outdoor setting, with his signature storytelling style that has built one of comedy's largest global audiences.

Omid Djalili: Namaste Tour

Omid Djalili brings his Namaste Tour to Malta at the InterContinental Arena Conference Centre on 24 and 25 July 2026. Tickets from €45 to €120. Djalili is one of Britain's most respected stand-up comedians, known for his high-energy, culturally sharp performance style and his crossover into film and television. The InterContinental Arena is a proper seated venue with the production values to match a touring international act. Two nights means two chances to get tickets if the first date sells out.

Rocky Horror Show

Not strictly stand-up, but the Rocky Horror Show at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on 30 October deserves a mention in any comedy guide because audience participation is half the performance. Dress up, shout the callbacks and surrender to it. The production touring Malta in 2026 is the full professional version. Tickets €125. A proper event rather than a night out.
